A SMALL QINGBAI LOBED EWER AND COVER WITH WARMING BOWL
SONG DYNASTY (960-1279)
The elegantly potted body of moulded melon form and mounted with a cover attached with a lion finial. The warming bowl is also carved with lobed sides rising to a flared barbed rim. The ewer and bowl are both covered with a transparent glaze of pale blue tone.
The ewer: 5 1/8 in. (13 cm.) high; basin: 4 1/4 in. (11 cm.) diam., Japanese wood box
