KANGXI SIX-CHARACTER MARK WITHIN A DOUBLE CIRCLE AND OF THE PERIOD (1662-1722)
The dish is potted with shallow rounded sides rising to an everted rim, raised on a wedge-shaped foot. Covered overall in a cream glaze, the interior is decorated with leafy branches bearing peaches and pomegranates rendered in colourful shades of green, yellow, aubergine and blue. The exterior is enamelled in a similar palette, with two leafy sprays bearing camellia and rose blooms with associated buds. Both the interior and exterior are further decorated with delicate incised decoration depicting scenes of dragons chasing flaming pearls.
