Lot Essay

The Qianlong six-character mark on the present example is very similar in style to that cast on a Qianlong-period censer in the Palace Museum, Beijing, illustrated in Splendors from the Yongle and Xuande Reigns of China's Ming Dynasty, Beijing, 2012, no. 149.
