A BRONZE MANDARIN DUCK-FORM CENSER
MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)
The censer is cast as a pair of mandarin ducks with their wings folded standing on a base imitating a tree trunk decorated with scrolling grapevines. The ducks with their heads facing sideways, are holding lotus stems in their beaks.
7 1/2 in. (19.2 cm.) high, wood cover and box
