A GILT-METALWARE AND BLUE ENAMEL TABLE ORNAMENT IN THE FORM OF AN EGG DESIGNED AFTER THE FABERGÉ CAUCASUS EGG OF 1893
APPARENTLY UNMARKED, PROBABLY ITALIAN, SECOND HALF OF 20TH CENTURY
The body engraved all over with floral medallions and foliage under translucent blue enamel, with four hinged oval apertures to the side with simulated pearl borders, and set with coloured pastes, the interiors lined in red velvet presumably to take photographs, the sides further applied with gilt swags
6 7/8 in. (17.5 cm.) high
