A Japanese miniature red lacquer zushi
decorated with lotus, the doors opening to reveal a standing Buddhist figure on a lotus-petal base before a flaming mandala, flanked by two painted figures on the doors -- 3¼.in (8.3cm) high, Edo Period; a gold lacquer box and cover decorated in relief with bamboo branches -- 2.in (5.1cm) high; a gilt-bronze kozuka decorated with numerous figures in a boat -- 3¾.in (9.5cm) long; a plique-a-jour ovoid jar decorated with chrysanthemums and peonies 3½.in (8.9cm) high; and a wood stand inlaid in ivory beads and carved with butterflies and foliage -- 7¼.in (18.5cm) wide.
