Shaped circular with moulded rim to pie-crust border, on three hoof feet, base applied with a threaded socket to take an alternative screw-on tazza foot (not present), base inscribed with scratch-weight 28=5, centre engraved with baroque coat of arms

Lot Essay

The arms are for Luttrell impaling Trevelyan, for Alexander Luttrell of Dunster Castle (1705-1737) and his wife Margaret (died 1764), daughter of Sir John Trevelyan, 2nd Bt. of Nettlescombe, whom he married in 1718.
