Each with a faceted obelisk supporting a spray of bead-strings, above a plinth issuing two scrolling acanthus branches with leaftip nozzles hung with swags and drops, on a leaftip-cast socle surmounting a pedestal applied with ram's heads, swags and profile reliefs within wreaths, on a later square red granite plinth, the inside top of the pedestal signed 'Chibout'
27 ½ in. (70 cm.) high, approx.; 18 in. (46 cm.) wide; 5 ½ in. (14 cm.) deep, excluding later plinth

Although the bronzier Chibout does not appear to be recorded, his signature is found on other bronzes d'ameublement of the late Empire and Restauration period, including a pair of figural ormolu candelabra sold anonymously, Christie's, Paris, 7 November 2006, lot 300.
