Van Overbeek is known for his landscape and topographical drawings done in England in 1663-1666, followed by a trip to France, visiting Lyon, Vienne (Isère) and Grenoble in 1667 or later (see Paysages de France dessinés par Lambert Doomer et les artistes hollandais et flamands des XVIe et XVIIe siècles, exhib. cat., Paris, Fondation Custodia, 2008, pp. 327-32).
