Lot Essay

In 1981 Schnackenburg (op. cit.) assigned a number of drawings, mistakenly attributed to Ostade, to a presently anonymous Haarlem master. Other drawings by the same hand can be found in the Teylers Museum, Haarlem (M. Plomp, op. cit., p. 277) and the Rijksmuseum (Schnackenburg, op. cit., no. F15).
