A SET OF FOUR ORMOLU AND WHITE-METAL DESSERT STANDS LATER CONVERTED TO LAMPS
MID-19TH CENTURY, PROBABLY ENGLISH OR GERMAN
Each surmounted by a pierced trellis basket with fruiting vines, above an entwined vine shaft standing on a naturalistic plinth, surmounted by putti and variously with a dog, a sheep, a panther and a ram, each on a C-scroll and acanthus-cast base, with adjustable gold-silk shade, further numbered to the top and underside of the stands as high as twenty-four, suggesting they were originally from a larger set, together with four apparently original hand-blown ruby glass dishes numbered ‘6'
The lamps: 19 ¼ in. (49 cm.) high, overall
The bowls: 9 in. (23 cm.) diameter
