JFK’s Navy Service Card, listing his address as “Hotel Bellevue, Boston.” The card reflects JFK’s release from active duty. This card covers his service from the Sub Chaser Training Center (SCTC), Miami, Florida, on 11 June 1944, to “Retirement Board, Wash. D.C.” Kennedy was still recuperating from the back injuries he sustained in the PT-109 attack, and which dogged him for the rest of his life. He was honorably discharged just before the Japanese surrender in August 1945.
