8° (160 x 105 mm). Woodcut printer's devices on titles, fine mostly full-page botanical illustrations throughout. (Some light browning.) Later vellum, yapp edges, title in manuscript on spine (lacking two pairs of ties). Provenance: Laurentius Nilsfeldinus (owner’s name on title); D.F. Didristum (“Hafniae” Copenhagen, 1837).

FIRST EDITION, second issue of Rariorum aliquot, with the errors of the first issue corrected and the additional quires CC-DD8 containing further plants and an index, without quire Y which was printed later in Vienna and included in some copies. The only illustrated edition for 200 years and based on L'Ecluse's discoveries made during his journey through Austria in 1574. Second edition of the RARE Stirpium nomenclator.
