Cover engraved with an Indian spearman in turban and dhoti and a galloping horse amidst foliate scrolls centred by reserve initialled IBB, base similarly engraved with an Indian palace overlooking a lake with dhow and palm trees in foreground, interior inscribed Presented by Lawrence Peel on quitting the Salford Sessions to James Baldwin Brown L.L.D. the Senior of the Barristers attending them as a proof of his friendship and esteem for that body and their leader
