With 27 ¼ in. (69.2 cm.) rebrowned Damascus nitro reproved signed barrel, 2 ½ in. (65 mm) chambers, bored approx. ¼ choke, scroll engraved action and signed back-action lock, the latter with traces of original case-hardened finish, figured 14 in. stock, fore-end with stained green horn end-cap, and vacant silver escutcheon, weight 4 lbs., in original maker's canvas fitted case

The makers have kindly confirmed that this gun was completed in August 1883.
