(59 cm.) signed blued nitro barrel engraved 'HOLLAND'S .240 BORE "APEX" R.G.D SUPER EXPRESS RIFLE', blued receiver with bases for quick detachable telescopic sight mounts, flag safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE', well figured 14 ¼ in. pistolgrip stock with raised cheek-piece, dark horn butt-plate and fore-end cap, and vacant gold escutcheon

The makers have kindly confirmed that this rifle was ordered on 15 November 1920 for 'His Majesty, King of Spain, Royal Palace, Madrid'. It was completed on 28 January 1921 and supplied with a telescopic sight (now lacking) calibrated to 1000 metres. The Spanish Embassy in London took delivery of the rifle the following day.
