COUPE ET SON SUPPORT EN GRES EMAILLE QINGBAI
CHINE, DYNASTIE SONG DU SUD, XIEME-XIIEME SIECLE
The cup is delicately potted with shallow sides rising to a flared six-lobed foliate rim, each divided in the interior by a raised line of slip. It is covered in a very pale bluish-white glaze suffused with a fine network of clear and russet crackles. The stand is modelled with a similar foliate rim and is covered with a plain glaze of warmer creamy tone, pooling to blue at the rims.
The stand, 5 7/8 in. (14.9 cm.) diam.

A QINGBAI FOLIATE CUP AND STAND
CHINA, SOUTHERN SONG DYNASTY, 11TH-12TH CENTURY

拍品專文

Song dynasty cups and stands of foliate form such as the present lot take their shape from contemporary silver vessels.
Compare the current lot to a similar Qingbai cup and stand with foliate rim in the British Museum, illustrated in The British Museum Book of Chinese Art, London, 1992, p.29, no. 9.
