CHINE, DYNASTIE HAN (206 AV. JC-220 AP. JC)
The waterdropper is finely cast in the form of a crouching mythical beast bixie, and is inlaid in gold and silver wires with scrolls and scales. The mouth is holding an earcup projecting from the lower jaw below a small hole, and the body has a two-character archaic inscription ; the cap missing.
