Lot Essay

William Kneeland graduated from Harvard in 1751 and was a tutor there from 1754-63. A teapot by Minott, presented to Kneeland in 1763, is owned by Harvard University. Dr. Kneeland practiced in Cambridge and was President of the Massachusetts Medical Society. See lot 97 for a tutorial silver cann by Benjamin Burt.
