A SOUTH-GERMAN ENGRAVED GILT-BRASS QUARTER-STRIKING AND ASTROLOGICAL TABLE CLOCK
LATE 16TH CENTURY
The front dial with twice XII hour ring with touch pieces, minute ring, solar time, age of moon and manually set moon-phase to central astrology chart disc, steel hand, aperture to lower right showing day of week zodiac, symbol of death to lower left; the rear with revolving year calendar; the right side with quarter striking indicator and touch pieces, lower dial calibrated 1-15, strike/silent lever above, the left side with strike indicator and touch pieces, dial below with Dominical letters, fast/slow regulation lever above; the movement with brass baluster pillars, twin chain fusees, later balance wheel and spring, two bells to gallery
