The pierced foliate entwined dome with figural friezes of reclining nudes flanking a mask with scallop shell of the Pilgrims of Saint James, waisted finial and further finials to the angles, the rectangular case engraved overall, the front showing Christ meeting the Pilgrims on the road to Emmaus, the dial with silvered chapter ring and steel hand, the center engraved with two knights on horseback outside the town of Compostela, the sides and rear with winged angel heads and further scallop shells, spring catches to bottom plate of movement, the cover to underside with signature '*N* / *Plantart* / *abbeville*'; the two-tier movement with plain and baluster steel pillars, with twin gut fusees, brass wheelwork, steel balance wheel, with pierced and engraved cover to countwheel, striking bell inside dome
