Spendlove, p.38 and pl.56 (‘At least four prints were made of the burning of the steamer Caroline on December 29, 1837, which created an international incident. The steamer, which had been used to supply the rebels in the 1837 uprising, was seized while in American waters and sent over the Falls in flames.’)
