Lot Essay

The views, taken after Short’s drawings of 1759, and engraved after Dominic Serres’s pictures worked up from Short’s drawings, were first published in 1761, the same year as Short’s twelve Quebec prints. This set is from the second issue by John Boydell in 1777.
