A PALE OLIVE-WHITE JADE ‘DRAGON/FISH’ PENDANT
CHINA, SHANG-WESTERN ZHOU DYNASTY (CIRCA 1600-771 BC)
The flat pendant re-shaped from a serrated disc fragment and carved in the shape of a dragon or a fish with circular eyes, bifurcated tail and toothed edges, the semi-translucent stone of pale olive-white color with opaque white inclusions and opaque areas of russet color at the edge; together with a small pale olive-white jade bead fragment, Eastern Zhou dynasty, of arched section, the convex side carved with two registers of dragon scroll, with scale pattern on one end and the reverse with two bull-nose perforations, with russet-stained cracks
3 3/8 and 7/8 in. (8.5 and 2.2 cm.) long, one box
