A PALE GREENISH-WHITE JADE ARCHAISTIC CARVING
CHINA, LATE MING-EARLY QING DYNASTY, 17TH-18TH CENTURY
Of sword slide shape, the front well carved with archaistic scrolls and a taotie mask at one end facing the head of a chilong carved in high relief peering over the edge from the other side where another larger chilong crawls across the opening of the slide, its bifurcated tail partially obscuring a small chilong, the finely polished, semi-translucent stone with some dark brown markings
