Alvear Pedro Ximenez Solera 1830
11.5 vol. Total acidity 4.2 g/l. Sugars 460 g/l. pH 4.1
In original wooden cases of four x 50cls bottles each, one with two only of which; one damaged capsule, one stained label, signs of seepage and level top-shoulder
Tasting note: This was a huge, thick, raisiny-flavoured sherry with a chocolate/caramel-like taste, exceptional unctuosity, and a huge, oily thick finish. It is unquestionably a sherry to be sipped at the end of a meal. One bottle will easily serve 20+ people. The colour is an opaque black/brown. Robert Parker, Wine Advocate #95 Oct 1994
