Each with single hongmu panel inlaid with a five-character inscription in white jade, reading shi shou wei quan leng, feng gao yu shu yao (The stones shrunken by the chilling spring; the trees distance themselves from the soaring summit), set within a narrow thumb-grooved beaded frame, brass hanger at the top

Lot Essay

The inscriptions are adapted from a poem by the Qianlong Emperor inspired by a spring near the Jinshan Imperial Palace located in Zhenjiang city, Jiangsu province.
