CHINA, SONG-YUAN DYNASTY, 13TH-14TH CENTURY
The tall, waisted neck rising from the canted shoulder to the flared rim flanked by the curved spout and the ribbed handle, covered with a milky blue glaze thinning to a lavender hue on the upper body and inside of the neck, and thinning to mushroom color on the edges

Compare the very similar ewer of this rare form illustrated in Zhongguo wenwu jinghua daxidian - taoci juan, Shanghai, 2002, p. 275, no. 352.

Oxford thermoluminescence test no. P114n34 is consistent with the dating of this lot.
