Lot Essay

The inscription on the verso of the first painting translates to "Hanuman crosses the ocean to Lanka" and is numbered 48. On the verso of the second painting, the inscription translates to "Hanuman visits Sita and subsequently wreaks havoc on Lanka" and is numbered 52.
