Lot Essay

Phillip King was taught by Anthony Caro O.M. C.B.E. whilst a student at St. Martin's School of Art, and later worked as an assistant to Henry Moore O.M. C.H. F.B.A. R.B.S. In 1990 he was made Professor Emeritus of the Royal College and was the President of the Royal Academy of Art from 1999 to 2004.
