A pair of Meissen urns
shouldered, standing on fluted feet above square plinths, the rims moulded with masks suspending garlands above putti, the handles to the shoulders modelled as cherubs astride dolphins, the supports applied with twin-tailed mermen, painted with flower-sprays and scattered flowers and insects, enriched elsewhere in colours and gilt, blue crossed swords marks and incised marks -- 9in. (23cm.) high, the decoration 19th century, the porcelain possibly earlier (chips and damages)
