A RARE SMALL GREEN JADE CUP WITH FIGURAL HANDLE
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
The oval cup has a handle to one side which is finely carved as a boy standing on clouds, with his head turned to the side and holding a lingzhi sprig in his left hand, while the right hand rests on the rim. His robe is tied with a sash that trails onto the side of the vessel. The semi-translucent stone is of green color with black inclusions.

Provenance
M. Schnelling Collection, acquired in London, late 1950s-early 1960s, reputedly from either Bluett & Sons or John Sparks, and thence by descent within the family.
