A LARGE ARCHAISTIC BRONZE JAR, LEI
17TH-18TH CENTURY
The jar is cast in relief on the body with a band of pendent blades enclosing taotie masks between bands of archaistic kui dragons separated by flanges. The shoulder is decorated with a band of similar dragons separated by whorl motifs, and is flanked by a pair of handles in the form of phoenix heads. The neck is decorated with two bow-string bands below the galleried rim.
