LUCKNOW, NORTH INDIA, CIRCA 1800
Opaque and transparent pigments and gold on paper, in a festive atmosphere a prince with a consort is surrounded by ladies from his harem, spraying coloured water and throwing colour powders, a fountain in the centre, with gilt borders, laid on card, the reverse with old inventory numbers and Urdu inscription giving the name of Raja Ratan Singh (?)
