A ROMAN MARBLE PANTHER HEAD
CIRCA 1ST-2ND CENTURY A.D.
Naturalistically sculpted, the head turned slightly to the right, with small ears flat against the head, snarling mouth with fangs bared, lidded eyes, fur indicated on the neck
4 ¾ in. (12 cm.) high

Private collection, Switzerland, acquired prior to 1994.
