A PALE CELADON JADE OCTAGONAL MARRIAGE BOWL
QING DYNASTY, 18TH-19TH CENTURY
The shallow vessel is finely carved around the eight facets encircling the exterior with shaped panels, each containing a crane amongst pine trees. The bowl is further carved to the interior with a cetnral floral motif and flanked on both sides by a pair of elaborately detailed bat- form handles with loose rings. The base is inscribed with an inscription followed by two seals reading, Gu Xiang, Tai Wang.
