A GOLD AND SILVER-INLAID OX-SHAPED VESSEL, GONG
YUAN-MING DYNASTY (1279-1644)
The box is shaped as the abdomen of an ox with feet tucked underneath, the cover in the form of an ox head and its upper body. The body of the ox is adorned with swirl motifs interspersed with flame scrolls inlaid with silver and gold.
