VERY RARE FIRST EDITION of Jane Purbeck's second epistolary novel after Raynsford Park (1790). The eponymous hero of the present lot has been likened to Samuel Richardson's Sir Charles Grandison, Thornborough acting as a constant device connecting disparate episodes.
