SECOND HALF 16TH CENTURY
With broad double-edged blade with a running wolf mark on one side retaining traces of original latten inlay, long grooved ricasso struck with a maker's mark on one side, iron guard with long straight quillons terminating in downturned mushroom-shaped finials, incised langets, and side-rings each with central section of incised bands, plummet-shaped pommel, possibly associated, retaining traces of incised ornament, and later textile-covered wooden grip with tassels (corrosion marking throughout)
