Desvignes Aîné et Fils, Vosne Romanée Les Suchots 1973
1er Cru, Côte de Nuits
Corroded capsules. Bin-soiled and slightly damaged labels, some badly bin-soiled and badly damaged with remains only. Levels: forty-one 2 to 3cms, five 3.5cms, five 4cms and one 4.5cms below base of corks.
Tasting note: Fully mature light bodied wine. Tasted slightly chilled. Clearly not the most intense vintage but there is Suchot's breed and the excellent cellar conditions make this an old but enjoyable Burgundy. Beetroot, old wood, hazelnuts in the nose. Tight taste, light and fully mature with with some apple acidity peaking through. February 2015, E.V.
