A BLACK-GROUND THANGKA DEPICTING THE EIGHT PRONOUNCEMENT HERUKAS
TIBET, 18TH-19TH CENTURY
The thangka depicts the eight wrathful deities surrounded by flames, standing upon a lotus base, each embracing their consort and holding various attributes. Vajrasattva is seated above in dhyanasana and there are two deities to the lower register.
