OSCAR WILDE (1854-1900)
A brass and copper electrotyped ink stand, with cutglass ink wells and a wood-handled dip pen, the running copper frieze depicting Bacchic revelry, the brass carrier inscribed: "Ink Stand of Oscar Wilde. Given to Mary Napier by her beloved Constance," 10 x 7in., 5½in. high. Together with a tortoise-shell and red morocco ink blotter, corner decorated with a filigree silver gilt design, the central oval with the initials of Constance Holland (morocco spine worn, partially detached), 13 x 10in. Both items contained in a leather case belonging to the Napier family. (2)
