THREE ARCHAIC JADE CARVINGS
NEOLITHIC PERIOD - HAN DYNASTY (CIRCA BC 6500 - AD 220)
The group comprises a brown jade pendant carved in the form of a stylised bird; a partially calcified and mottled beige jade cong-form bead; and a brown jade axe-form pendant carved with rope work and scrolling designs.
The bead 3 ¾ in. (9.4 cm.) high
Provenance
The first: acquired in 1987 in Hong Kong.
The second: acquired in 1988 in Hong Kong.
The third: acquired in 1988 from a private collector in Hong Kong.
