A WHITE JADE 'QUAIL AND MILLET' PLAQUE
18TH CENTURY
The plaque is carved to one side in low relief with two quails beneath a millet stem. The reverse is carved with a four-character inscription in archaic script. The stone is of a pale milky tone.

The four-character inscription is a new year's wish which reads sui sui ping an, and may be translated as 'may you have peace year after year'.
