Lot Essay

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present Dome clock with "Les Aventuriers des Roseaux" or "Adventurers of the reeds" decoration in 1976 and its subsequent sale on 22 May 1980. Furthermore delivered with a Patek Philippe fitted presentation box.

To the best of our knowledge, this Dome clock has never been offered in public before.

The decoration was done by Elisabeth Perusset Lagger, the celebrated enamellist excelling in the fine art of cloisonné enamelling for Patek Philippe. The curved panels and dome presenting an incredible challenge mastered by only the most skilled artists.

For a Dome clock made in 2006 and a note on these rare timepieces see lot 292 in this auction.

A similar Dome clock is illustrated in Patek Philippe Museum - Patek Philippe Watches - Volume II, pp. 403-411.
