Lot Essay

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with silvered satiné-finished dial in 1960 and its subsequent sale on 12 May 1960. Furthermore delivered with Patek Philippe period presentation box.

Fresh to the market, the present watch is an unusual example of a reference 3423, distinguished by the hard enamel "sector" style lines on the dial and the retailer signature Trucchi, one of Patek Philippe's oldest retailers in Napoli, Italy. Its rarity is furthermore enhanced by its extremely well preserved, original overall condition.

Reference 3423 was launched in 1958 and remained in production until around 1970. It was available in all three gold colours. Until 1963, the dials were decorated with the engraved and hard enamel "sector" style lines, later generations featured regular dials with applied baton numerals.
