Lot Essay

With Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin dated 23 July 2011, leather pouch, literature, sale tag, box and outer packaging.

This wristwatch has never been offered in public before and is preserved in excellent overall condition.

Enamel has always occupied a special place in the hearts of collectors, and enameled pieces by Patek Philippe never fail to impress with their superb quality and vibrant colors. The present timepiece is a celebration of this century-old art: the cloisonné enamel is the one and only protagonist of the dial, which is stark to the extreme, without even the numerals. A close inspection of this work of art highlights the supreme mastery of the skill achieved by Patek Philippe's enamellers: the pinions of the phoenix are executed in incredible details, the many colors melting into each other and dancing with different hues according to how the light strikes the dial.
