Lot Essay

After a relief formerly in the villa Albani which appears in an etching from 1763 by Jean-Claude Richard, abbé de Saint-Non (1727-1791). A version of the present drawing is in the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, Paris (inv. Mas. 1531).
