4° (339 x 275mm). 13 fine hand-coloured aquatint plates by S.G. Hughes and H. Pyall after Bury. (Pp 7/8 with repair affecting one or two words in three lines of text, very light browning and soiling.) Red half morocco by Riviere & Son, top edges gilt, slipcase (front cover detached, rubbed).

FIRST ISSUE, without the two extra plates ‘which can occur in either issue’. Bury was a prominent architectural designer who collaborated with Pugin in designing the details of the Houses of Parliament. His Coloured Views 'are considered to be the finest of the various series of prints published to commemorate the opening of the Liverpool and Manchester Railway, on 15 September 1830' (ODNB).
