BEN TALLY-HO’S IRONIC ADVICE IS SEEN IN ACTION: the one way to stop a horse is to ride against another huntsman; a ‘roman-nosed’ horse can be a help in going through if not over a gate; the hind-quarters can kick a stone wall down. This companion piece to Some do, and Some do not (lot 106) is in 'Alken’s best style' (Schwerdt). Dixon 37; Mellon/Snelgrove 15; Schwerdt I, p.22; Siltzer p.70; Tooley 34 (as Hunting Sketches).
